Come Back Athlete

Henry County Sports Medicine would like to recognize another Hagertown student athlete, Chase Patton for a tremendous recovery from ACL reconstruction. Chase tore his ACL in August of 2009 during a two-a-day football practices and missed his entire junior campaign. Though sorely missed by his team, Chase worked tirelessly on his knee after surgery with Dr. Tom Mathews.
Upon his return to the football field one year later, Chase led the Tigers and the area in many statistical categories. The Fullback / Middle Linebacker / Kicker rushed for 1158 yards on 143 attempts (8.1 average) and scored 10 TD's, made 65 tackles & 47 assisted, forced 2 funbles and recorded 2 interceptions. He also kicked 41 extra points and 3 field goals.
Chase was recognized as the area's All Around Player of the Year, TEC All Conference, and was awarded All State honors as a Middle Linebacker. Chase led his team to an undefeated regular season, a TEC conference championship as well as a sectional championship. Chase also participates in baseball and hopes to take his football talents to the college level.
ACL tears were once seen as a career threatening injury. Now, with advances in technology and aggressive rehabilitation, Henry County Sports Medicine strives to get the athlete back to playing at an even higher level.
Congratulations Chase and keep up the good work!
