Each patient admitted to ICCU is under the medical care of an attending physician. The physician may be your family physician, a surgeon, an internal medicine specialist, cardiologist, or orthopedic surgeon.

ICCU nurses are highly trained, caring professionals. In addition to providing care for the patient, the ICCU nurse works closely with other healthcare professionals such as physicians and dieticians in developing a plan of care for each patient. The majority of the nurse's time is spent at the bedside with the patient.

Henry County Hospital is staffed with pharmacists who assist in providing the patient's medicine. They help the team by supplying information about medications and potential drug interactions.

Respiratory therapists are involved in helping the patient breathe easier by providing treatments ranging from simple oxygen delivery to ventilators. They monitor the patient's response to treatments and recommend treatment changes.

Social workers may help you better understand and adjust to the patient's condition. They are helpful in planning the patient's future care and assist with financial resources, i.e. insurance. They assist in arranging transfers to other facilities.

A chaplain is available upon request to help offer emotional and spiritual support. You may ask the nurse or clerk to notify the chaplain for you. The Chapel is located on the ground floor across from the Gift Shop. Ministers are encouraged to visit at 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
