Matthew Barrett, MD, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons after a rigorous application and examination process. In evaluating the eligibility of applicants for Fellowship, the College investigates each applicant''s entire surgical practice.

Strong, Brunck and Barrett Surgical Specialists, Dr. Barrett also is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He graduated from Purdue University, received his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Barrett provides laparoscopic abdominal surgery to treat a wide range of surgical conditions including appendicitis, gallbladder removal (Cholecystectomy), hiatal hernia, anti-reflux surgery (Nissen Fundoplication), colon resection, hernia repair and diagnostic laparoscopy.
He also performs breast cancer surgery and sentinel node biopsy and localization to help determine if cancer has spread to lymph nodes for breast cancer and malignant melanoma.
